Writing Update Feb. 26

Hey everyone,

Here's your update on the stuff I'm writing about. For now, I'll keep this as a post and email. Looking to have this out once a week. Eventually, I might move this to an email-only thing... who knows!

Afghan Book

I'm currently in the process of brain-dumping my first draft. I've got all the memories I wanted to write about for Sangin 2012 out of the way, and now I'm working on the 2014 deployment.

I'll be hitting some of you up to fact-check things and get your perspective on events. Below is the process I'm using to write this beast.

• First draft
• Interviews (other people's perspectives, etc.)
• Second draft
• Insert 1/7 historical overview
• Probably lots more drafts

That's a very rough outline of how I'm planning to write this thing. And it isn't exactly linear. I might go more in-depth on my process in the future.

But, if I reached out to you, expect me to hit you up again to take a look at some things I wrote.
